Join us April 1, beginning at 9pm, for the Maundy Thursday Virtual All-Night Vigil

It has long been a tradition at St. Andrew’s for us to follow the ancient practice of maintaining an all-night vigil after the Maundy Thursday service until the morning of Good Friday. This is in response to the call of Jesus in the garden of Gethesmene on the night before his crucifixion when he said to his disciples “Could you not stay awake with me one hour? Stay awake and pray with me.”

In normal times, parishioners have signed up to do a one hour in the Transept Chapel in the church. But in these extraordinary times, with the church closed due to the coronavirus, we have come up with an alternative way for us to maintain this powerful witness of being with Jesus. You are invited to participate in the vigil by virtually sitting with the presence of Christ in the reserve sacrament over Zoom during the overnight hours. During your hour, you are free to pray, sit, or read. Thank you for participating in the vigil. Please click the button below to use SignUpGenius to sign up for an hour to maintain a “virtual” vigil in your own homes. If you have problems signing up, please contact Rev. Adrian.
