Christian Learning
Christian Learning is a life-long process that involves the deepening of faith and understanding in every phase of life. As such, the Christian Learning Programs at St. Andrew’s fall into four categories: children, youth, college students, and adults.

The children and youth of our congregation add to the vibrancy and joy of our community. St. Andrew’s offers a wide range of age-appropriate programming for our families to fit their needs. Programs include: Kids’ Place (childcare, 9:45am until the end of Sunday service), Kindergarten / Elementary Grades (9:45am until brought in to the service at the time of Peace), Holy Communion Preparation (1st and 2nd Grade), Children’s / Youth Choir, Church School Meditation (weekly email message). Please contact the Rev. Sarah Robbins-Cole or Susan Jackson regarding these programs.

Programs include: Sixth & Seventh Graders: Welcome to Rite-13 (meets 9:45am Sundays, and once a month for an additional weekend evening or Sunday afternoon event), Eighth Graders: Exploring Confirmation at St. Andrew’s (5pm, Sunday Eucharist followed by class, ending 6:30pm), Ninth to Twelfth Grades: High School Youth Group (6pm, bi-weekly on Sunday nights), Youth Acolyte Program (for young adults eighth grade and older).

St. Andrew’s College ministry offers a rich combination of bible study, retreats, special trips, and brunches and provides continued pastoral support and “coffee date” ministry. Students are encouraged to take part in St. Andrew’s church activities as participants, volunteers, and spiritual leaders. Right now we have Wellesley women teaching Church School and Confirmation Classes, singing in our Adult Choir, and reading scripture during our Sunday morning services. Please contact the Rev. Margaret Schwarzer if you would like to meet for a coffee, or would like more information about our ministry. A weekly email is sent out to the college students on our list with updates for opportunities and upcoming events; please also contact Margaret if you would like to be added to the college email list.

Christian education is a foundation of our community at St. Andrew’s. With a wide range of learning experiences offered here, we welcome you to join us. Programs include: Christian Learning Series (9am on most Sundays, September through May), “Faith & Practice” (We gather to reflect on the practice of our faith; how do we live as 21st century Christians?), Bible Circle (Co-ed, 10:30am, 2nd Tuesdays and 7pm on a Wednesday night), Men’s Bible Study (8am, 1st Saturdays). Please contact the Reverend Margaret Schwarzer regarding these programs.
