Isaiah: A Prophet’s Voice Calls Us To An Honorable Life
ISAIAH is one of Judaism’s and Christianity’s most important prophetic books. In it, the prophet calls the people of God to atone for their self-serving and greedy ways and to live a life of service and honor, a life worthy of God’s call to them. The 66 chapters of Isaiah are begun by the 8th century prophet Isaiah; chapters 40-66 continue in the school of Isaiah and speak about the Babylonian exile and its aftermath. For Christians, the “suffering servant” texts in Isaiah serve to foreshadow Jesus Christ and all he has done for us.
